How it works

On a paid plan, RankAI:
  • Publishes new articles to your website: 10 a month on Starter, 30 on Growth.
  • Rewrites published articles that aren’t ranking yet. Rewrites don’t count toward your monthly allowance. See Rewrites and updates.
  • Fixes technical SEO and AEO issues you switch on through the site script.
  • Tracks your AI visibility in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, about every 14 days.
The Free plan runs an audit and a one-time 7-day content plan with sample articles, but doesn’t publish. See Plans and billing.
Only what you connect it to:
  • Blog integration: RankAI adds and edits only the articles it creates. Your existing pages stay untouched.
  • Technical SEO & AEO script: applies only the fixes you switch on.
See Connect your website.
WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Wix, Squarespace, and Sanity, plus any website built with code (Next.js, React, HTML) through RankAI’s article API. Using something else? Contact support and we’ll tell you the best option.

Your content

RankAI picks topics from your business details, your competitors, and your Search Console data, favoring relevance over raw search volume. In Keywords & Content, you can:
  • Add a topic: Add Keyword → Add Focus Topic.
  • Pick keywords yourself: Manual Keyword Research.
  • Remove a topic: select it in Upcoming and click Remove.
You can’t reorder upcoming topics yet. If many topics feel off, update your business and audience details; every future topic uses them. See Keyword strategy.
Yes. Turn off Auto Publish Blogs in Settings → Site Integration, and nothing goes live until you open the article in Keywords & Content and click Publish. Turn it on once you trust the results, and RankAI publishes new articles and rewrites on schedule. See Review and publish.
Give RankAI your facts and voice once, and every article uses them. Go to Settings → Project Information. Use Business Description → Edit for what you sell and who you serve. Then open Blog Post Settings → Manage: add instructions like topics to avoid or terms to use under writer notes, and upload reference documents to the Knowledge base with Add document. The knowledge base reads text, not images, so describe visual brand rules in words. If many drafts get the same thing wrong, fix it there rather than in each article.
No, not for being AI-written. Google says appropriate use of AI isn’t against its guidelines; what matters is whether content is helpful and accurate. RankAI writes each article for your business from your details and research. Still check product claims, prices, and results before you publish, because you know your business best.
Every week, RankAI checks your published articles. Articles not updated in the last 14 days that aren’t in Google’s top 50 yet, or have no search data, get rewritten. With Auto Publish Blogs on, the update goes live automatically. Search Console must be connected. See what’s waiting in Analytics → Rewrite Queue. See Rewrites and updates.
Each article is written in your project’s language (set in Settings → Project Information), including Traditional and Simplified Chinese. You can choose a different language per article in the editor. See Languages.

Results

Results come in stages:Leads come last, because they need clicks first and a clear next step on your page. If you have clicks but no enquiries, check that each article links to a page where visitors can contact or buy. See What to expect.
Usually because you’re appearing for many searches but not yet near the top: most clicks go to the first few results. It’s an early, positive stage. Watch position: as it improves, clicks follow. If a page sits in the top 5 with many impressions and few clicks, its title may not match what searchers want. RankAI’s rewrites target exactly these pages. See Google search metrics.
New pages take a few days to a few weeks to be indexed. In Search Console, open URL Inspection for the page and read the reason:
  • Discovered or crawled, not indexed: wait, and make sure other pages link to it.
  • Excluded by noindex: a setting in your CMS or one of its plugins is blocking it. Remove it.
  • Blocked by robots.txt: update your robots.txt.
If your whole site dropped, contact support right away with the date it happened.
The most common reasons:
  • No check has run yet. Checks run about every 14 days after setup, so new prompts show as pending at first.
  • Tracking started fresh. If you used RankAI’s older AI reports, that history didn’t carry over to the new AI Visibility report.
  • AI tools aren’t naming you yet. That’s common early on. Prompts that name your brand are left out, so the number reflects how new customers discover you.
Visibility = answers that mention your brand ÷ all answers, across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. Find it in AI Search Visibility → Overview. Other tools may show different numbers because they ask different questions. See AI visibility metrics.
Open Analytics, check that the right project is selected in the project switcher, and check Settings → Site Integration → GSC Connection shows the right property. Data can lag by a day or two, and brand-new pages have no data yet. Analytics cover RankAI’s pages, so totals will be lower than your whole site in Search Console. Still looks wrong? Contact support with a screenshot and the date range.
No. AI tools don’t share the question someone asked. Your website analytics may show the AI tool as the referring site, but not the prompt. RankAI’s AI visibility report shows which of your tracked prompts mention you.

Connections

RankAI uses your Search Console data to pick topics, decide which articles to rewrite, and report your results. Connect it in Settings → Site Integration → GSC Connection → Connect. Google asks you to allow Search Console access and site verification. RankAI uses that access to read your search data and submit your sitemap. You need owner or full-user access to the property. See Google Search Console integration.
The script lets RankAI apply technical fixes, such as titles, meta descriptions, and alt text, without editing your CMS. Install it from Technical SEO → Apply Changes, then review fixes on the same page. The fix list isn’t a to-do list: switch on the fixes that fit your site, and leave the rest. If you remove the script, its fixes stop applying. See Technical SEO & AEO.
Most website platforms add new posts to your sitemap automatically, and RankAI also submits your sitemap to Google Search Console every week. See RankAI’s list in Settings → Site Integration → Open sitemap. On a website built with code, make sure your sitemap includes the article pages your site displays.
No. The blog integration, Search Console, and the technical SEO & AEO script are separate connections.
